Calvinism and 20 Years of Incest

unhappy faceRecently a pillar of one of the local churches where I live was arrested for incest involving his two daughters.  A year before this came out of the closet, I along with two other men had a conversation with this man about salvation. The explosion that took place during this conversation was witnessed by everyone, since I was in a local place (not church) of believers. Is the wages of sin still death?

wages of sin is deathAlmost every Christian can quote the first part of Romans 6:23, “For the wages of sin is death…”.  But what do we think when we quote Paul?  Do we think that the wages of sin is death no matter what!  Or is the wages of sin death only for the unbeliever, but Christians get a pass from Jesus when we sin.

There is a doctrine in the church which teaches that Christians can sin for an undetermined amount of time doing an undetermined amount of sinning and the wages of sin is not death.  This doctrine, to be more specific, says this sinning believer will not ever be in the danger of going to hell and certainly not result in spiritual death.

So to repeat the question, is the wages of sin still death, or not?

What does Romans Chapter 7 teach anyway?

Paul the ApostleDoes Romans chapter 7 teach that a Christian will always struggle with sin?  Is Paul confessing he has a nagging problem with sin?  My graphic shows a Paul who can not say no to sin.  He is a drunk, abuses prescription drugs, gambles and is a chain smoker all because he does those things which he doesn’t want to do.  That is, according to theologians.  What is Romans chapter 7 teaching anyway? Environmental Darwinism … A Religion Whose Time Has Come

The New Religion

The New Religion

Before I begin this post I think I should answer a few questions.

1.  What is Darwinism?

2.  What is environmentalism?

With these two questions answered, we then can discus what Environmental Darwinism is and why it is a religion whose time has come. Continue reading

The Problem with Church… It’s full of Tares

wheat and taresNot only has Jesus encouraged the Church that we will not be left alone, for He will always be with us to the end of the age.  He has also warned us that we are not alone.  The members of the body of Christ are not alone in the Church.  We have had our ranks invaded with false believers, false Christians and even those with the spirit of antichrist.

Jesus sums up this infiltration of the Church by these types of believers by calling them tares.  Even before the Church gets off and going, Jesus makes a point to let the disciples know that in their pursuit to fulfill the command of Christ to preach the gospel, they will have those in their midst of whom belong to the enemy. Reason 836 Why the U.S. is Dying and the Church is Already Dead.

God's willIt has come to my attention that there are Christians on Facebook that are advocating that we, as believers, need to be content with God’s will to have Hussien Obama as our President.  They actually advocate that because the man is in office that God wants him there and therefore his actions in office are the will of God!

So are we to take the Calvinist (Reform Theology) view of things, that man has no free will and God decides everything before time began.  That men are only actors who have to live out what God has already set in stone as far as their decisions and outcomes.  Therefore, it is God’s will that Obama is in office and all of his liberal, progressive, communist ideologies are what God wills?  Are we to give praise to God for the man the we have in office and give thanks that he is continually attacking the founding principles and documents of this country, because it is God’s will? Losing the Gospel Message

Out with the oldI was flipping through a local paper the other day and I happened upon an advertisement concerning Teen Challenge participating with a youth group in the area.  Many of us are aware of Teen Challenge and probably know of someone who has gone through this ministry.  Not to long ago my family and I watched The Cross and the Switchblade, which is the story of David Wilkerson in his younger days, who birthed the Teen Challenge ministry.

David Wilkerson has gone on to be with the Lord, but before he finally found his true rest, he made many efforts to warn the church about leaving the gospel.  His book, Set The Trumpet to thy Mouth, was David being a watchman for the church, which resulted in much criticism for him.

I found this advertisement, which had the Teen Challenge ministry as the focal point, shocking because it reflects those things which I believe embodies what David Wilkerson was warning the church about.  Let me explain what I mean.
