Amerika

6 05 2012

Statue of LibertySome people consider America to be like Rome in its final days.  We are seeing the collapse of our economy and the erosion of all civil liberties and what are supposed to be unalienable rights.  Yet today every right that has been given to us by God Himself has been denied to the American people and repackaged only to be given back to us as rights coming from the government.  With this they give us fees, to exercise rights that our forefathers exercised without any restriction or permission from the government.  If we do not pay the fees and exercise our rights as still coming from God and not the state, we are fined.  If we still will not give up the antiquated ideas found in the constitution we will be imprisoned and our land taken away. To Tell the Truth

6 03 2012

Will the real gospel please stand upThere used to be a television game show called ‘To Tell the Truth’.  I remember watching it when I was younger.  The point of the program was to trick the contestants into believing a lie.  They did this by having three participants try to persuade the contestants of their occupation.  However, only one of the participants actually held that occupation.  The other two participants were lying through their teeth to make themselves seem more credible than the one who actually held the job.  The contestants were each allowed to ask the participants questions to get to the truth.  But of course, the fun of the show was to see the contestants put their votes on the one whom they thought was telling the truth only to see them select a liar.

In today’s post we are having our own game show of ‘To Tell the Truth’. Read the rest of this entry »

The Chruch of the Living Dead

29 02 2012

This post will be the summation of my last two post.  ‘Two Face the Gospel’ and ‘Competing Word of God’ looked at the two different gospels preached from the word of God.  The big question is, how can the Bible appear to teach a gospel of grace and not by works and a gospel that teaches we will be judged by what we do.  One teaching concludes that our behavior has nothing to do with our hope of salvation while the other teaches it has everything to do with our eternal destination.   Are we forever bound to have two gospels?

Now when most people consider the grace of God they say that God in His mercy sent His Son to die for our sins.  Consequently the teaching is the sins of man were nailed to the cross.  I think this is good doctrine.  Only someone who doesn’t understand the basic principles of the gospel would mistakenly say this is not a profound biblical truth.  But is our sins being nailed to the cross the only benefit man has received from the Lord concerning our redemption?  There is something else taught in our gospel that in my opinion appears to be missing in the gospel message of the church. The Competing Word of God

26 02 2012

In my last post ‘Two Face the Gospel’ we looked at the two different gospels coming from scripture. One gospel says our salvation is by grace only and has nothing to do with our behavior, before or after conversion. The other side of this two faced gospel is the opposite extreme. It says that our behavior after being saved does matter. This side of the Two Face Gospel says if we do not obey God we will not be saved. These two opposing doctrines, each presented as the truth of the gospel, are completely supported by scripture. Read the rest of this entry »

Two Face the Gospel

17 02 2012
In Christianity there are diffently two faces of the gospel presented to the lost.  And both of these personifications are at opposite extremes of the gospel, as if the gospel has more than one truth found in it.  On one had we have those who present grace and only grace as the guarantee of eternal life.  They profess that our behavior after being born again has nothing to do with our salvation.  Consequently, the logic is one can live as they want and still go to heaven.  Of course the champion of this is personified by Christ.  On the other hand we have those who present works as a prerequisite on top of grace in order to be saved.  The Law, give by Moses, is the one everyone thinks of when it comes to having to do works in order to be saved.  Both of these views can find no agreement with each other, as if there is two completely different gospels found in scripture.  The result is two versions of Christianity embodied in one gospel.  Let’s call this embodiment what it is, let’s call it “Two Face”. Hatred of Scripture

14 02 2012
American Christianity claims to embrace the truth of the gospel found in the written word of God.  It claims to walk in the light and teachings of the scriptures and boast of a love of the scripture and the author of the scriptures.  However, it is been my experience that Christians only love certain verses of scripture that support their doctrine of liking.  They do not embrace the whole counsel of God as they claim.

The word of God clearly teaches that though Jesus Christ we have forgiveness of sin.  This I can agree with my Christian brothers on.  But scripture also teaches that being justified by the blood of Christ we must live in the newness of the life in the Spirit or we have not been transformed by the Spirit.  This is where my Christian brothers and I part company.

They do not want to understand the following truths found in our scriptures. Read the rest of this entry »
