Two Face the Gospel

In Christianity there are diffently two faces of the gospel presented to the lost.  And both of these personifications are at opposite extremes of the gospel, as if the gospel has more than one truth found in it.  On one had we have those who present grace and only grace as the guarantee of eternal life.  They profess that our behavior after being born again has nothing to do with our salvation.  Consequently, the logic is one can live as they want and still go to heaven.  Of course the champion of this is personified by Christ.  On the other hand we have those who present works as a prerequisite on top of grace in order to be saved.  The Law, give by Moses, is the one everyone thinks of when it comes to having to do works in order to be saved.  Both of these views can find no agreement with each other, as if there is two completely different gospels found in scripture.  The result is two versions of Christianity embodied in one gospel.  Let’s call this embodiment what it is, let’s call it “Two Face”. Sanctification, the blood, forgiven, imputed righteousness and salvation

I recently posted comments from Peter concerning our salvation and how he doesn’t relate salvation to the believer in any way as taught in Christianity.  Christianity teaches that, at a minimal, believers are saved at conversion.  Others say that they were saved, are being saved and will be saved.  Peter says none of this concerning our salvation.  Instead in the first chapter of I Peter we find him talking about a coming salvation and how we are receiving not the beginning of our faith but the end of our faith concerning our salvation.  In Peter’s eyes, we were born again into a living hope with an inheritance kept for us in heaven.

Unfortunately, Robert like so many believers think my position of the timing of salvation, means that I teach forgiveness by the blood of Christ and His imputed righteousness is not instantaneous at conversion.  Instead because of this understanding of the church, it is implied that I teach this, although nowhere have I ever taught this.  Simply because they can not separate those things from salvation.  They have not seen in scripture where there is a group of people who were imputed righteousness by God and most of them still died in their sins.

I further advocate that believers will not find any teaching coming either from Peter or any other writers of the New Testament about three tenses of salvation. Continue reading

Are you His?

I really believe that there are two verses in scripture by which all mankind hangs in the balance.  These verses throw down for us a truth we either will reject or accept as worthy of our attention.  These verses set the tone for the authority of God’s word and why we need to take head.  These verses are Hebrews 1:1-2.

God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,  Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;[1]

I believe the world has become harder and harder to evangelize because the world is less and less accepting that God has spoken.  Those who hate God have played the church for fools.  While we have been asleep at the wheel, they have used our schools and higher education against us and destroyed the testimony that God has spoken.  We have let the world dictate to us their religion of evolution while we have a smaller and smaller voice in society.

And to this, some “believers” do not know that we should grieve, because they are to busy trying to manipulate scripture with the unproven theory of evolution.  They have proven they do not really believe that God has spoken, when their first love is a man made faith that rules supreme, and by which the word of God needs to be interpreted by.  These men have more confidence in the rearranged pile of bones, manipulation of data and the blatant cover up of the mountain of proofs for a young earth and intelligent design.  These believers are like those who consulted other gods and then say let us go to inquire of the Lord.  These “Christian” men have put stumbling blocks before others who would seek to know God’s word and have destroyed the faith of many.

But alas these are not the only offenses we have made against God who has spoken.  We have entangled the word of God so cleverly and almost undetected with psychology that “believers” actually believe this wisdom of man is the spoken word of God.  Yet we will never find this self help, motivational message in the word of God.  We may pervert and twist it to make it says this, but we will not find those sermons in scripture.  They are not there.  But “believers” faithfully preach it and believe it.  These “Christian” men have put a stumbling stone in front of those who would have put their faith in God’s spoken word.

We have done more than plant a seed for increase, we have planted a spawn of Satan.  We have left the spoken word of God and gone off to serve other spoken words.  God’s word in the church is at its twilight and almost set.  The last day apostasy is almost complete.  We have almost completely replaced His word for another.

We His bride have put idols before Him and His word.  We do this and yet think we go to Him with clean hands and hearts.  We think we can go and give Him acceptable praise.  But how does the Lord God who has spoken to us by the prophets and His Son view these “believers”.

For every one of the house of Israel, or of the stranger that sojourneth in Israel, which separateth himself from me, and setteth up his idols in his heart, and putteth the stumblingblock of his iniquity before his face, and cometh to a prophet to inquire of him concerning me; I the LORD will answer him by myself: And I will set my face against that man, and will make him a sign and a proverb, and I will cut him off from the midst of my people; and ye shall know that I am the LORD.[2]

If perhaps this spoken word of God though the prophet has managed to reach heart, then repent.  If you have been convicted to give God’s word first place in your life and not some latest Christian book, repent so the Lord may refresh you.

Remember Christ died for you.  He sacrificed Himself in beatings, severe whippings and the cross for you.  This was spoken of by the prophets.  Are you going to let such a salvation slip beyond you because you pursue stumbling stones and not the word of God in your lives?  Remember His sacrifice for His bride.  If you are His bride, He will know you are His because you are spotless and blameless.  He will know you because He will see His Spirit in you as you walk not according to the flesh.  He will know you are His bride when He sees you walking according to His spoken word alone.
